- The upheaval in Wall Street has caused some profound changes in business brokerage. Learn how every business broker can not only survive in the changing environment, but take advantage of change and thrive in a down market. Downward sales trends have a direct effect on sales multiples and financing. Buyers are looking for safe places to invest their capital, and there are lots of good deals out there for ones with cash. When people lose their jobs, they have a short period of time to either find employment or invest in American Dream Part II, owning their own business. Creating Value for Your Current and Future Clients
Conference : IBBA Conference for Professional Development
Speaker(s) :
- The business brokerage market has changed dramatically in the last two years. Many businesses have undergone dramatic declines in valuation due to both multiple deflation and company performance. Acquisition financing is more difficult for buyers to obtain. The net result is that fewer deals are getting done and fee income overall is reduced. We cannot control the macro-economy, but we can adapt our marketing strategy to conform with external realities. Discussion will outline the 4Ps of a marketing strategy that take a much longer-term view of client relationships and focus on valuation creation more than simply monetizing value that already exists. The fee structures emphasize monthly retainers and payment for ancillary services as delivered. The intent is to share in the value creation throughout the process and thereby have a more robust and profitable business brokerage or M&A advisory practice.
