- Country to country differences in pay levels, benefits, taxes, currencies, living costs and cultures can present challenges to mobility professionals who must transition temporary assignees and cross-border transfers to local terms and conditions. Without a comprehensive policy in place, localizations can involve lengthy negotiations with potential transferees, increasing costs and resulting in inequitable compensation arrangements. In this session, we will explore how to establish localization packages that meet employee needs as well as harmonize with compensation arrangements for local national peers. We will learn about the hallmarks of robust localization policies and consider some practical aspects of localization practices for difficult transfers. Attendees will learn how one company defines and manages their robust localization program, hear about anothers process to establish their first localization policy, and share in some case study examples that highlight solutions for problem localizations.
