Robert Krance MD
Biography
Robert Krance MD has been involved in stem cell transplantation for children for 30 years. He directs the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplantation Program at Texas Children's Hospital, and is Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, positions he has held since 1997.
Dr. Krance’s research efforts include the development of therapies to overcome leukemia resistance and the prevention of viral infections in transplant recipients.
Prior to joining Baylor, Dr. Krance worked at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and the City of Hope. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Medical Center in 1970.

Edward J. Krauland
Biography
Edward J. Krauland is a partner in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson
LLP, where he is a member of the International Department. Prior to joining
the firm, Mr. Krauland served with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in the
area of nuclear export transactions.
International Regulatory Compliance: Mr. Krauland's experience in the international trade area includes representing
clients on matters involving US and multilateral economic sanctions, dual use
and defense export controls, payment abroad of commissions and other
marketing funds, anti-money laundering compliance, DSAA and State
Department certifications, and anti-boycott and FCPA enforcement. His
practice spans all aspects of these laws, including counseling, compliance and
transactional advice, licensing and opinion work, internal reviews, and
enforcement actions. He has extensive experience dealing with the principal US
agencies, including the Commerce Department, State Department, Treasury
Department, Defense Security Service, and Justice Department. He has served
as co-chair of the International Trade Committee of the ABA Section of
International Law and Practice. He is currently the Chairman of an ABA-wide
Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and co-chair of the ABA Section of
International Law and Practice’s Task Force on money laundering and
professional responsibility.
Mr. Krauland practices in the area of administrative litigation (for US and
foreign clients involving import relief trade litigation under US antidumping and
countervailing duty statutes) and international arbitration and dispute settlements
before arbitral tribunals (such as the US-Iran Claims Tribunal, the UN Claims
Commission, and ad hoc arbitrations involving UNCITRAL arbitration rules
and procedures). His experience includes complex investor-sovereign investment
disputes, contract terminations and non-performance claims, and disputes arising
from emerging economy restructurings (such as privatizations in the former
Soviet Union).
International Government Procurement
Mr. Krauland has assisted clients in Buy America Act and Trade Agreements
Act compliance, handled disputes over US-origin content requirements under
the Buy American Act, and spoken on the elements of US-origin content
requirements under these statutes. He has served as chairman and vice chairman
of the International Procurement Committee of the ABA Section of Public
Contract Law, and has also advised public interest and bar association groups on
public procurement regimes for the emerging economies of the former Soviet
Union.

Alan R. Kravets, Esq.
Biography
Alan Kravets is president and part owner of Sheldon Good & Company. He was head of a 30 person law firm 20 years and received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan Business Administration and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. He is licensed as both an attorney and real estate broker in 15 states. Mr. Kravets has been personally responsible for $1 Billion Dollars of loan workouts for various lenders and other real estate auction transactions, much of which took place during the FSCIC/RTC days. He was a key participant in the workout between Donald Trump and a group of participant lenders, resulting in the $19 million sellout of the remaining condominium units of Trump Plaza of the Palm Beaches; he represented IBM in the sale of their Dayton, NJ facility with significant environmental issues for $10 million; he was instrumental in the most expensive residential real estate sold in the Chicagoland area in 2006, the sale of the Horizon Farms Equestrian Estate for $19.3 million and many others. Mr. Kravets generously shares his experience as a frequent lecturer and active trade association member. He was chosen as a member of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society and The Economic Club of Chicago, is a board member of the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate (AECRE), a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association (IHLA). He is also philanthropically minded, and spearheads the Sheldon Good & Company charitable auction program, raising millions for charities including the American Heart Association, Special Olympics, Junior Achievement and the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and others.
