- By 2011, nearly 10,000 Americans a day will turn 65. Ms. Turchetta will deliver an enlightening program to prepare you and your staff to overcome many of the challenges associated with treating the elderly and build a better patient relationship.
- How many of your patients are enduring some degree of pain or discomfort before, during or after a dental appointment? In the second part of her lecture, Ms. Turchetta will tackle the issues of dentin hypersensitivity and dental anxiety. The team-oriented program will introduce pain-free solutions you and your staff can use to foster improved patient care.

The Mysterious Non-Carious Cervical Lesion

- In 1907, Dr. W.D. Miller published the results of his research that determined the etiology of non-carious cervical lesions. Because all subsequent attempts to reproduce the non-carious cervical tension failed and the literature reveals only hypothetical opinions, current opinion suggest a multifactional etiology. Dr. Dzakovich did a study to compare the effects of modern day materials on hard tooth structure to those used by Dr. Miller.

When is it Time for Orthodontic Treatment to Begin?

- The most visible characteristics of a malocclusion develop or intensify during the transition stage when the permanent incisors replace the deciduos incisors. This presentation will show the rationale for early orthodontic intervention by understanding growth, knowing the contributions of growth and utilizing growth. Case studies and the mechano-therapy used with follow-up care will be presented.

A Potourri of Dental Pharmacology

- Dr. Crossley will provide the nuts and bolts of practical pharmacology that is useful to the dental practice. Using the top 50 most prescribed drugs as a template, Dr. Crossley will discuss the control of post-operative pain, the drug of choice for orofacial infections, the prophylaxis guidelines for cardiac and/or orthopedic prosthesis patient, the current information on bisphosphonate-induced osteonecrosis, as well as potentially harmful drug interactions. Dr. Crossley wil also discuss the most commonly abused prescription and street drugs.
