Susan K. Parsons MD MRP
Biography
Susan Parsons MD is the Director of the Center on Child and Family Outcomes at Tufts Medical Center. She provides outpatient care to long-term survivors of pediatric cancers and hematopoietic stem cell transplant at the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston.
Prior to joining Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Parsons served as attending physician on the Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) service at Children’s Hospital Boston for twelve years. Her research interests include quality of life, functional impact, and fiscal impact of chronic illness on children and their families.
Dr. Parsons is an active member of the Children's Oncology Group, a member of the BMT InfoNet Board of Scientific Advisors, and a recent member of an expert panel of the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplant on transplant indications for children and adults with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Sara Patterson MA
Biography
Sara Patterson is a ten year survivor of acute myelogenous leukemia. In 1998, she underwent a bone marrow transplant using her brother’s marrow.
Prior to moving to Texas in 2008, Ms. Patterson served as the Wellness Coordinator at Cancer Services, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC. She holds a Masters Degree in Communication from Wake Forest University, where she studied the transition process of adolescent and young adult cancer survivors after ending active treatment. She was the chair for the Young Adult Cancer work group at the North Carolina Comprehensive Cancer Program, and has served on leadership boards for Relay for Life, Colleges Against Cancer, and Imtooyoungforthis.org.
Ms. Patterson was voted the most inspirational speaker for the United Way of Forsyth County, and speaks frequently on topics related to cancer survivorship.

Steven Pavletic MD
Biography
Steven Pavletic MD is the head of the Graft-versus-Host and Autoimmunity Unit in the Experimental Transplantation and Immunology Branch of the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He also has an adjunct investigator appointment at the National Institute for Arthritis and Rheumatism at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Pavletic’s research focuses on blood stem cell transplantation for blood, graft-versus-host disease and transplantation for autoimmune disease. He is the co-chair of the NIH Chronic GVHD Consensus Project, and of the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplantation Research GVHD Committee.
Dr. Pavletic received his medical degree from the University School of Medicine in Zagreb, Croatia. He completed his training in transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle WA.
