Daniel Armstrong PhD
Biography
Daniel Armstrong PhD is Professor of Pediatrics and Psychology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is also Associate Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Director of the Mailman Center for Child Development, and Director of the University of Miami Sickle Cell Center.
Dr. Armstrong is an active researcher on neurodevelopment in children with cancer, sickle cell disease, and HIV/AIDS. He has been involved with bone marrow and stem cell transplantation research since 1984.
Dr. Armstrong received his Masters Degree in psychology and counseling from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He is currently on staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Associate Chief of Staff at Holtz Children’s Hospital in Miami.

Brian Berryman MD
Biography
Brian Berryman MD has over 13 years experience in blood and marrow transplantation. He currently an attending physician for the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He is also the Medical Director for the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Medical City Hospital of Dallas.
Dr. Berryman received his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he also completed his fellowship in hematology/oncology. In 1999, he began his training in transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Berryman is an active member of the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and serves as a Board Member for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (North Texas Chapter).

Michelle M. Bishop PhD
Biography
Michelle M. Bishop PhD is a Research Assistant Professor in Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. A licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Bishop has over 12 years of experience helping patients and families with the psychosocial aspects of blood and marrow transplantation (BMT).
In 2007, Dr. Bishop published a groundbreaking study of the quality of life, relationships, and post-traumatic growth of BMT survivors and their spouse. The study involved survivors and caregivers from 40 different BMT centers in North America. She recently received a grant from the National Cancer Institute to conduct an in-depth follow up study, and is pilot testing a self-care intervention program for BMT family caregivers.
