The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) is the national membership association that represents ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and provides advocacy
and resources to assist ASCs in delivering high quality, cost-effective ambulatory surgery to all the patients they serve. At ASCA, they are eager to help you become better
acquainted with our nationís ASCs and the people who own and operate them. They are also eager to help you develop policies on ASC-related issues.

  • Join the ASC Association for a full-day session on case costing and using Excel to master the data. Industry experts will start the day with a hands-on, computer-driven Excel course. Participants will choose from a beginner or advanced track. The afternoon will build on the Excel skills learned in the morning sessions with a hands-on overview of case costing that will address why to case cost, what data are needed and where to go to find that data. This session will demonstrate not only how to case cost but also how to analyze the data for trends and presentation purposes. Participants need to bring a laptop computer.

  • Want to know how to best use the benchmarking tools offered by the ASC Association in your ASC? With more than 650 participants, the ASC Association's Outcomes Monitoring Project provides the most extensive data from the ASC industry. Industry experts will discuss using these data reports on clinical indicators, including the six measures approved for ASCs by the National Quality Forum, and the variety of operational measures addressed in the survey. Half of the session will also be devoted to using the Foundation's Financial Benchmarking reports. Topics covered will include quality improvement studies, how to analyze information, how to share data with your staff and presenting information to your Board. To maximize the benefit, plenty of time will be made available for networking by specialty with other participants about how they use the data.
