- Eating disorder clients who are traumatized often lose a
sense of Self and are dominated by their approval-seeking
or protective coping mechanisms. As a result, they are
particularly susceptible to the messages swirling around
them about their bodies and their worth. The Internal
Family Systems (IFS) model helps clients find themselves
from a place of calm and courage, and relate differently
to their inner and outer storms.
