Conference Educational Objectives
- To provide basic TMD and orofacial pain education to health care practitioners who are new to the field.
- To provide established orofacial pain practitioners an opportunity to broaden their knowledge base in the areas of musculoskeletal, neurovascular and neuropathic pain.
- To provide the TMD and orofacial pain practitioner with detailed scientific insights into the impact of the trigeminal nervous system and central nervous system processing on the experience of facial pain.
- To provide evidenced based summaries on various treatment strategies which are currently available to treat the orofacial pain patient.
- To provide the conference attendees with information that will broaden their knowledge base in the area of dental sleep medicine.
- To provide the conference attendees with insights into the pathophysiology of muscle and joint injury and how these mechanisms relate to tissue healing.
- To provide the conference attendees with an appreciation of the critical importance of utilizing the skills of physical and behavioral therapists in the management of TMD and orofacial pain patients.
