Susan M. Harmon Biography Susan M. Harmon has a private law practice specializing in the areas of estate planning and taxation, financial and retirement planning for closely-held business owners, professionals and individuals. She is also Of Counsel to the law firm of Kalogredis, Sansweet, Dearden & Burke, Ltd. in Wayne, PA. Prior to starting her own law firm, she was a member of the law firm of Schnader LLP. Earlier, she was an Associate Professor of Taxation at The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She has authored books on estate and gift taxation and income taxation used as the textbooks for The American College courses on those subjects as well as published articles in those areas. She holds a B.A. from Tulane University, a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, and an LLM in Taxation from Temple University Law School. She also received her CLU and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations from The American College. Susan has served as Chairperson of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation Committee on Closely Held Business and is currently Co-Chairperson of the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Section Committee on Insurance and Investment Planning. Other memberships include the Attorney Advisory Board of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, AALU, Philadelphia Bar Probate and Trust Section and Tax Section, Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, Pennsylvania Bar Association and Legal Advisory Board of Small Business Council of America. She is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Affiliation

Suzanne Harness

Suzanne Harness Biography Suzanne H. Harness, Esq., AIA, Managing Director and Counsel, AIA Contract Documents, The American Institute of Architects, Washington, DC. Suzanne Harness is both a licensed architect and a construction attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience in the design and construction industry. As Managing Director and Counsel, AIA Contract Documents, for the American Institute of Architects, Suzanne is responsible for the content of AIA Contract Documents. With her staff and the AIA Documents Committee, she works actively in the creation and revision of AIA Contract Documents. Suzanne was first licensed as an architect and practiced architecture in Washington, DC firms for several years before joining a commercial real estate development company where she managed the design and construction of a three-building suburban office park. Later she joined the General Services Administration (GSA) where she managed many design and construction contracts, including the Modernization of the Department of Justice and the design of the District of Columbia federal courthouse annex. While at the GSA Suzanne received her J.D. Degree from the George Washington University Law School’s evening program. She then joined Seyfarth Shaw’s Washington, DC-based construction practice group, representing architects, owners, and contractors in litigation and contractual matters until joining the AIA in September, 2002. Suzanne is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association (ABA) and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. She received a B.S. cum laude and M.Arch in Architecture from The Catholic University of America and is a life member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society. Affiliation

T. Randolph Harris Biography T. Randolph Harris is a partner in the New York City law firm of McLaughlin & Stern, LLP, where he is co-chair of the 14-partner trusts and estates department. A native of Wheeling, West Virginia, Mr. Harris is a graduate of Princeton University and received his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at NYU, where he teaches Estate Planning in the Graduate Tax Law Program. He is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, where he is past chair of the Fiduciary Income Tax Committee and a former member of the Board of Regents. Mr. Harris has chaired various committees of the Tax Section and of the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association, and is a member of the Surrogate’s Court Advisory Committee of the New York State Office of Court Administration.
